Sometimes kites in this style are referred to as stars. Given that, this one must be a supernova. It's pretty easy to lose perspective of a kite's size in sky because there are so few visual cues to aid the judgment, save perhaps the line going out to the kite which is often hard to see. In this case I was lucky enough that two people happened to be standing on the hill as this behemoth broke the horizon. And if you still aren't sure how big it is, when it was being assembled the owner and maker of the kite was assembling it from inside the center of the kite...standing up...at it's shortest dimension (depth)...and he was about 6' tall. Very neat, and fun to watch. COOLPIX P5000
