| Time for another photograph of kiting. This image was taken at the Newport Kite Festival in 2003 on my Nikon 990. I love the way the arch runs through the image, framing the Peter Lynn Ray. What's amazing to me about this image is that you lose all sense of scale. You might not realize it, but those kites in the arch are each about a foot long, whereas the ray is about 30' wide and 100' long! One thing I love about kiting is the variety; you can be on a field with dozens of other kites and no two may be the same. I hope I captured that here. |
